We wrote this page in plain language so you actually understand what happens with your information. The wording is under legal review, and if anything here is unclear we would be glad to hear from you through the contact page.
What MySit is and why we hold information about you
MySit brings your event together in one place: RSVPs, seating, finding your table on the day, and gifts. For all of that to work we keep information about event owners and their guests, and this page spells out what is stored, why, and what your rights are.
Information about account holders
When you open an account we keep your name and email, along with the events you created and the packages you bought. Your password is stored in an encrypted form that even we cannot read.
Card details never pass through us and are never stored with us. Payment is processed directly by Tranzila, and all we keep is the payment confirmation and the order details.
Information about guests
Event owners add their own guest list to the system: names, phone numbers and the group each guest belongs to. It is the event owner's responsibility to make sure they are allowed to share those details with us.
When a guest answers through their personal link, we also store the answer, how many people are coming, a meal choice where relevant, dietary or accessibility notes if they chose to add them, and a personal wish if they wrote one. This information is shown to the event owners only, for running the event.
WhatsApp and SMS messages
Invitations and reminders are sent to guests on the event owner's behalf, each with a personal link. We keep the messages that were sent and their delivery status, so the owners know who received what.
Any guest can ask to stop receiving messages at any time, and we honor that immediately. The request is kept on file so no further messages reach them.
Gift privacy
Gift amounts are the hosts' private matter. Even when a venue or anyone else manages the event, they never see amounts anywhere in the system. This is a core MySit promise.
Cookies
We use cookies for operation only: one that keeps you signed in to your account, and cookies that remember display preferences, such as dark mode. There are no advertising cookies and no marketing tracking of your browsing.
When you contact us
Messages sent through the contact page are stored with the details you filled in, so we can get back to you, along with a note of the link or campaign that brought you to the site. You can ask us to delete these too, like any other information.
Security and retention
Information is kept on secured servers, the connection to the site is encrypted, and access to the data is limited to the people who need it to run the service. Guest links are personal, and each guest reaches only their own information.
For security we also keep a technical record of account activity, such as the address your device connected from and the browser type. That record is used for security only.
The information is kept while the account is active, so you can come back to it after the event too.
Deletion and requests
Want to update your details, receive a copy of your information, or delete it? Write to us through the contact page and we will take care of it. A guest who wants their details removed can turn to the hosts or directly to us.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, the new wording will be published here with its date. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the updated wording.
